The Media We use the term 'The media' to mean those bodies and organisations who communicate information to the people. Many towns had their Town Crier, but Purley was far too small and village gossip would pass pretty quickly to everyone.
At one time it effectively meant newspapers, radio and TV but now it embraces a much wider spectrum
