Whitchurch on Thames
Whitchurch lies on the north bank of the Thames opposite the western end of Purley and includes Hardwick. For many years Whitchurch included several parcels of meadowland on the south bank but when the Civil and Ecclesiatical parishes were split in 1892 these lands were transferred to the Civil Parish of Purley while the Ecclesiastical Parish of Whitchurch retains them.
